In early February the Research Organization Registry (ROR) will be hosting several online events as part of the seventh anniversary edition of the ROR Annual Community Meeting. Everyone is welcome, from those who are just learning about ROR to those who are already big fans! Session details:
- ROR Community Update, February 3, 2026, 4pm UTC - In the seventh anniversary edition of our Community Update, we’ll discuss where ROR is now and where we’re going next, inviting your ideas and input for the future. We’ll celebrate ROR’s journey and express our gratitude to the ROR community, without whom we’d never have come this far. Join us to hear from the ROR team about what’s happening with ROR strategy, product, adoption, curation, and tech.
- ROR Community Drop-In, February 3, 2026, 5pm UTC - The ROR team will stay online for an hour after the Community Update session for an unrecorded and informal chat with registered participants. Ask us anything! To join, just register for the Community Update and stay on the Zoom after the meeting.
- How ROR Can Help Research Funders, February 4, 2026, 4pm UTC - Research funders want to be able to track published research outputs that have resulted from their support. Historically, funders have relied on their grantees to report these works, but it’s becoming increasingly common for funders to register DOIs for awards to enable better connections in metadata between funding support and research results. In this session, we’ll hear three presentations on how the use of ROR can help funders track their impact. Speakers include:
- Hans de Jonge, Head of Open Science Policies, NWO
- Ana Van Gulick, Head of Customer Engagement for Government, Funders & Nonprofits, Digital Science and Ishwar Chandramouliswaran, Lead Program Director, Office of Data Science Strategy, NIH
- Ami Gala, Sales Director, Americas, Altum
- The Role of ROR in National Research Strategies, Wednesday, February 4, 2026 / Thursday, February 5, 2026, 5pm PST on February 4th / 1am UTC on February 5th / 10am JST on February 5th - National research strategies in countries such as Korea, Japan, and Australia describe plans to ensure research integrity, track national research efforts, examine international collaborations, and analyze funding impact. In this session, we’ll learn why ROR is a “priority PID” in several national research strategies in the Asia-Pacific region. Speakers include:
- Kazuhiro Hayashi, Principal Senior Fellow, NISTEP
- Clare Nulley-Valdes, Assistant Director Evaluation and Impact Policy, Australian Research Council
- Jungwoo Lee, Senior Researcher, KISTI
Register for one or more sessions on the ROR Events page. Hope to see you there!
