We are looking at creating name records for the Archives Hub (a UK national aggregator of archive descriptions), but many people referenced in archive collections are historical figures, not well-known, and therefore often not published.
Does anyone know of any work in this area or have any thoughts about it?
We are including VIAF IDs where we can, and we would like to include ORCID IDs for those who have them, but for many people, these are not applicable. We could create wikidata Q references, but often these people are just ordinary folk with no claim to fame whatsoever…(although they may end up being important in terms of connecting events in some way).
