Identifiers in Heritage Collections - how embedded are they? - Webinar 17 July 2020

Identifiers in Heritage Collections - how embedded are they?

Persistent Identifiers as IRO Infrastructure is an AHRC funded project as part of the Towards a National Collection programme. In this second webinar for the project, the project team will present the initial results of a survey on the use of persistent identifiers in Heritage Organisations followed by a panel discussion of the results. Panel members include Rebecca Bailey, Programme Director, Towards a National Collection and Lorna Mitchell, Head of Library, Archives & Publications Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh. There will also be a demonstration of a prototype tool from Prof Rod Page, University of Glasgow to navigate between persistent identifiers across heritage collections.

Date and Time

The webinar will take place on 17 July 2020 at 10am UK time (10am BST, 11am CEST) and will run until 11:30am.

Who should attend?

This webinar is for anyone who works with heritage collections, and is interested in the use of persistent identifiers for those collections or as part of the metadata describing them. We have a focus on the UK, but non-UK heritage organisations are welcome to join! If you have been involved with implementing or using persistent identifiers for collections, we’d also love to have you join us.

What if I can’t join?

Although we’d love for you to join the webinar ‘live’, we realise that many of you may have caring or other duties that mean you can’t. We will record the webinar for you to view later, and you can join in the conversation at any point on twitter with #HeritagePIDs and @HeritagePIDs.
